Being a mother...

Last week, Tuesday afternoon around 3:30pm I was in my car driving towards my house. I have just exited the 610 South Freeway and taking a 'U' turn underneath the freeway to get to the other side. It is a bit dark and quite and the road was wet... when I noticed something was moving on the road,it looked like a bird and he was scared and trying to hide himself towards the pavement.
I passed it and my mind started to wonder ... "what is it !! is it a bird or some garbage... shall I stop and look, is it too dangerous to walk alone, shall I keep on driving". Wow!! so many thoughts in flash of a second... so finally I choose to pull my car into the Chevron station nearby and walked back towards the freeway.

WOW!!! It was a pigeon chick ... hardly I could recognize it was pigeon. I had to double check with the homeless person ... he didn't have much feathers. It was little weird to hold them and ofcourse
being that it just stopped raining he was dirty...and I made up he fell of his nest underneath the freeway by accident.

As I walked back to the car I noticed there was another one... so I took her too and walked towards my car.
I felt I was being extra-ordinary (felt good).

I made my Garage as their new home, with my 'Buddy' (Sun Canure) and 3 Diamond Doves.. even Buddy and the Diamond doves were scared looking at these half naked chicks.

I was worried how I would feed them, but they started to eat the scrap food on the floor left by Buddy and the doves.

Sadly, last Monday (Aug 24th, 2008) one of them died... :-(
I was really worried about the other one...

Luckily, a Miracle happened yesterday ...As usual I walked into my Garage to feed Buddy and the Diamond Doves. I fed them and I was putting some grains for the chick on the floor. From some corner of the garage the chick ran towards me, like he would run to his mother and started to eat from my hand, and he drinks water from my hand.
I love that ....

Last two days I have been feeding him from my hand, and he follows me everywhere, and he is glad to see me when I walk into the Garage. He is treating me like his mother ... and I guess I am being a mother too.

I am looking forward to our deep bonded future... and I am naming him "Bond".

One of my dreams is to have pigeons and doves freely flying around my house and I am feeding them every morning... maybe Bond would fulfill my dreams. :-)
